Lukashenko approves amendments to Belarus-Russia agreement on joint border protection

MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) - Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has approved a protocol on introducing amendments and addenda to the agreement between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation on the joint protection of the external border of the Union State in the air and the creation of the common regional system of air defense of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation as of 3 February 2009. Corresponding Decree No. 80 of 10 March 2017 was published on the National Legal Internet Portal on 14 March, BelTA has learned.

The protocol was signed in Minsk on 2 November 2016 at the session of the joint board of the defense ministries of Belarus and Russia. It was reported earlier that the participants of the session passed important resolutions aimed at enhancing the security of the Union State.
