KHARTOUM, 17 January (BelTA) – Sudan President Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir expects cooperation with Belarus to continue successfully. The Sudanese head of state made the relevant statement during official negotiations with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 17 January, BelTA has learned.
The Sudan President noted that after he visited Belarus in 2004 the sides started working together in a number of areas. “We have signed a lot of agreements since then. A lot has been done together at the level of ministries and government agencies. The dialogue between the business communities of the two countries is advancing,” said Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir.
He underlined that Sudan has a great development potential. “We support further development of relations with Belarus in various areas. Your visit and the organization of the business forum indicate that the countries have the will to make the relations stronger, primarily economic ones. Our mutual relations and cooperation will continue and should reach a higher level,” stated the Sudan President.
Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir noted Belarus' accomplishments in developing and building its state. “We have agreed that we will interact at all levels and in all areas. The very good mutual relations between our countries will continue and we will develop strategic projects together,” noted the Sudanese head of state.
While talking to mass media after the negotiations Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir stressed that Belarus is a good partner of Sudan. He thanked the Belarusian side for assistance with developing an entire number of avenues and economy branches.
“I am thankful to Alexander Lukashenko for it. Despite the distance between our countries joint operations will be developed without any restrictions. We will continue cooperation in technology and other areas. We will see concrete results within two years or three at the outside. We will provide everything Belarus needs. We are bound to witness very good results,” added the Sudan President.
