Belarus-Russia Union State hailed as paragon of integration

MINSK, 28 October (BelTA) – The Belarus-Russia Union State is a paragon of integration, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with the heads of the government delegations of the EEU and the CIS member states in Minsk on 28 October, BelTA has learned.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that the CIS is a good platform for talks and negotiations, for addressing tactical issues. Meanwhile, the Eurasian Economic Union envisages a closer economic integration. “The Belarus-Russia Union State is an example of an even closer integration. It is a paragon and role model,” the Belarusian leader stressed. He added that many Belarus-Russia agreements served as a foundation in establishing the Eurasian Economic Community.

“If someone is willing to move forward from an economic union to a closer military and political alliance within the framework of the Belarus-Russia Union State, we are open to talks,” Alexander Lukashenko noted.
