Belarus president presents gifts to Venezuela president, his wife

MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – After official negotiations in Minsk on 5 October the presidents of Belarus and Venezuela Alexander Lukashenko and Nicolas Maduro exchanged gifts, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian head of state presented a tapestry with an image of Mir Castle to his Venezuelan counterpart and a set of flax table linen embroidered with elements of the Slutsk belts pattern to the first lady of Venezuela — Cilia Flores. Alexander Lukashenko stressed that Belarus is one of the world's leading flax fabric manufacturers. He praised excellent consumer qualities of flax fabric products.

In turn, Nicolas Maduro presented a picture of the Venezuelan capital — Caracas — to Alexander Lukashenko. “We will put it in the Independence Palace next to your gift and a gift from Hugo Chavez,” noted the Belarusian head of state. “A perfect place,” agreed the Venezuelan leader.
