Belarus president arrives in Turkey on working visit

ISTANBUL, 13 April (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has arrived in Turkey on a working visit, BelTA has learned.

BelTA reported earlier that the Belarusian head of state will take part in the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul on 14 April. The summit will take place under the motto “Unity and solidarity for justice and peace”. The Belarus president is expected to make a speech during the summit.

While in Turkey Alexander Lukashenko is also expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings and negotiations with leaders of foreign nations.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is an international organization that comprises over 50 countries with the population of 1 billion people. Approaches and priorities of Belarus and the OIC in the international scene coincide a lot particularly in such areas as family values, religious tolerance, sustainable development, and human rights.
