SCO membership obligations for India, Pakistan finalized

TASHKENT, 24 June (BelTA-TASS) – The leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states have coordinated the SCO admission obligations for India and Pakistan. The relevant memorandums were signed at the SCO summit in Tashkent on 24 June.

Russian President's aide Yuri Ushakov earlier told media that India and Pakistan were expected to get the SCO membership during the organization's summit in Kazakhstan on 7-8 June 2017.

The SCO heads of state also signed a declaration to mark the 15th anniversary of the organization and the decision of the SCO Heads of State Council to approve the action plan for 2016-2020 on the implementation of the SCO development strategy through 2025.

The leaders of the SCO member states ratified a report of the Council of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) on its activity in 2015 and decided on the dates for SCO Heads of State Council meetings.

The SCO tourism cooperation program was signed at the summit as well.
