Protection of Belarusian, Russian citizens in other countries discussed

MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – Another round of consultations on consular affairs between the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs took place in Moscow on 23 May, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

The sides discussed matters concerning the protection of rights and legal interests of citizens of Belarus and Russia, including in third countries. The enforcement of the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Cases of 22 January 1993 was also mentioned.

Close attention was paid to the operation of the consular services of Belarus and Russia as well as interaction of Belarusian and Russian diplomatic missions with competent agencies in the countries they stay in.
