Political, economic cooperation in focus of Belarusian-Croatian ministerial consultations

MINSK, 25 May (BelTA) – A regular round of the Belarusian-Croatian ministerial consultations was held in Zagreb on 25 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko; the Croatian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Bakota. The parties reviewed a wide range of issues of the Belarusian-Croatian relations in the political, trade and economic avenues. The parties also discussed the interaction of Belarus with the European Union, the cooperation between the two countries in international and regional organizations, and current regional security issues. An agreement was reached to organize bilateral activities to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, including a joint business forum in Belarus.

On 26 May, the Belarusian delegation will visit Rijeka to attend the opening ceremony of the Belarus Honorary Consul Office. Oleg Kravchenko is also scheduled to met with Mayor Vojko Obersnel. The head of the Belarusian delegation will also visit the Chamber of Economy of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County of Croatia to hold talks with Vidoje Vujic, President of the Chamber, Honorary Consul of Belarus, and with representatives of the business community of this Croatian region.
