Margvelashvili: Georgia remains committed to cooperation with Belarus

MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Georgia Mikhail Myatlikov presented his credentials to Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Georgian President noted that the two countries enjoy friendly relations which were given a significant boost following the visit of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to Georgia in 2015. “Giorgi Margvelashvili said that Georgia remains committed to the development of mutually beneficial and open cooperation with Belarus. The Georgian President also highlighted a significant potential for the implementation of joint Belarusian-Georgian projects in industry, agriculture, pharmaceutics, medicine, transport and logistics, tourism industry,” the press service informed.

The parties also noted that the agreements reached at the highest level, including on the opening of the Belarusian Embassy in Georgia, are implemented contributing to further advancement of cooperation.
