Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki appointed new UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus

MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) - Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki assumed office of the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Belarus. Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki is also designated as Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Belarus, BelTA learned from the UNDP website.

Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki replaces Mr. Sanaka Samarasinha who completed his mission in Belarus on 30 April 2018.

Working in UNDP Headquarters since 2010, first as Division Chief for Western CIS and the Caucasus and lately as the Head of Country Office Liaison and Oversight unit of UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS in New York, Ms Kazana-Wisniowiecki was responsible for cooperation with UN Member States through their Permanent Missions to the UN and supporting management and oversight of eighteen UNDP Country Offices across Europe and CIS region.

Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki is Polish, has a Master's Degree in Economics and International Relations from the Warsaw School of Economics.
