Harstedt praises constructive contacts with Belarusian authorities at OSCE PA session in Minsk

MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) - Head of the Swedish parliamentary delegation in the OSCE PA Kent Harstedt, recently appointed OSCE PA Special Representative for Eastern Europe, took note of constructive contacts with the Belarusian authorities at the 26th OSCE PA session in Minsk during his meeting with a delegation from Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.

The meeting with the delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Boleslav Pirshtuk took place on the sidelines of the OSCE PA Autumn Meeting in Andorra la Vella. The parties discussed the prospects of cooperation. Kent Harstedt updated on the cooperation with Belarus after the OSCE PA annual session in Minsk. He took note of a constructive character of contacts with the Belarusian authorities both at the stage of the preparations for the session and during its organization.

The representatives of the OSCE PA, and also of the delegations of Azerbaijan, Germany, Sweden and other countries expressed gratitude to the Belarusian parliament for a high level of the organization of the 26th OSCE PA annual session.

The Belarusian MPs held meetings with their counterparts from Azerbaijan, Romania, Serbia, Russia, Germany, Ukraine, and Armenia. Member of the Belarusian delegation Valery Voronetsky took part in Azerbaijan-initiated meeting on the Silk Road support group, set up at the OSCE PA summer session in Minsk.
