Elections 2016. New Belarusian parliament in session on 11 October

MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – The first sessions of the newly elected chambers of the Belarusian parliament will take place on 11 and 12 October, BelTA learned from Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina on 16 September.

The first session of the sixth-convocation House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus will begin in Minsk at 11:00 on 11 October. The first session of the newly elected Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus will begin at 11:00 on 12 October.

“These are our proposals. These are the extreme time limits for both chambers of the parliament since in accordance with the Constitution it has to be done within 30 days after the elections,” noted Lidia Yermoshina.

Both chambers of the Belarusian parliament will retain their previous MPs until then since they are responsible for discussing the next year's state budget bill.
