CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils in session in Minsk

MINSK, 15 June (BelTA) – A session of the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states is in progress in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

Opening the session, State Secretary of Belarus' Security Council Stanislav Zas said he was confident that participants of the session would be able to decide on all the items on the agenda in a traditionally trustful and friendly environment and would sign the relevant documents. He added that the favorable manner for the joint work had been set by the meeting with the Belarusian head of state Alexander Lukashenko earlier that day.

The state secretary also noted that 25 years since the Collective Security Treaty was signed and 15 years since the Collective Security Treaty Organization was established will be marked this year.

Participants of the session of the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils are expected to discuss a number of pressing matters, including information security, military and technical cooperation, next year's plans, and other things.

Taking part in the session are national delegations of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and representatives of the CSTO Secretariat.
