CIS envoys to draft agendas for sessions of councils of heads of state, foreign ministers on 20 July

MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) – A regular session of the council of plenipotentiary representatives of the CIS member states in charter bodies and other bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States will take place in Minsk on 20 July, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee told BelTA.

The plenipotentiary representatives are expected to draft agendas of the next sessions of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council and the CIS Heads of State Council, which are expected to take place in Sochi, Russia in October 2017. The agendas will include further adaptation of the Commonwealth of Independent States to modern reality, documents regulating cooperation in a wide range of avenues starting with support for conventional family values and ending with aerospace defense.

Members of the council will also be made familiar with a draft agenda of the next session of the CIS Heads of Government Council, which is scheduled for November.

Apart from that, the operation of the CIS interstate environmental council will be discussed. The council is focused on interaction in environmental protection, population health, and rational use of natural resources for the sake of ensuring sustainable development of the countries.

The CIS plenipotentiary representatives are also expected to agree the candidacy of the head of the mission of CIS observers, who will monitor the presidential election in Kyrgyzstan on 15 October 2017.
