Belarus, Serbia discuss prospects of cooperation in CEI in 2017

MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) – Different aspects of Belarusian-Serbian cooperation during the upcoming Belarus' presidency of the Central European Initiative (CEI) in 2017 were discussed in Belgrade on 6 October during the consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Serbia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Belarusian delegation to the consultation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna. The Serbian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dragan Momcilovic. Attending the consultations also was Serbian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Branimir Filipovic. The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the Belarusian-Serbian relations, including the development of the political relations between Belarus and Serbia, the trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural and interregional cooperation, and improvement of the legal framework of the bilateral relations.

They also considered current items on the international agenda, Belarus' and Serbia's cooperation with the European Union, the cooperation in international organizations, such as the United Nations, OSCE, UNESCO, and also aspects of international and regional security.
