MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received no official requests to move peace talks on Ukraine from Minsk, Anatoly Glaz, the head of the department of information and digital diplomacy (spokesperson) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, told the media on 27 September, BelTA has learned.
“We have not received any official documents from Ukraine. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will not comment on the statements made by individuals. That's their business. What is important for us is that Ukraine, our neighbor with which we have closest diverse links, restores peace soon,” said Anatoly Glaz.
According to media reports, First Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Kiev's representative in the Working Group on Humanitarian Issues of the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine Irina Gerashchenko supported the idea to move the talks from Minsk. The same proposal was put forward by Ukraine Permanent Representative to the UN Vladimir Yelchenko.
“We have no information regarding the agreements or compromises reached on this matter,” Anatoly Glaz said.
