Belarus reaching for Latin America with Spain's help

MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – Belarus plans to enlist Spain's assistance to branch out into Latin America markets, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko told the media following the first session of the Belarusian-Spanish intergovernmental commission on economic and industrial cooperation on 18 October, BelTA has learned.

“We are eager to help each other get into third markets. Spain shows interest in the market of the Eurasian Economic Union, Belarus seeks Spain's assistance with entering Latin American markets where Spanish business traditionally has strong positions,” Oleg Kravchenko remarked.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France and concurrently to Spain Pavel Latushko told the media that Belarus plans to begin relevant negotiations in the near future. “We know that Spain historically has close ties with Latin American countries,” he said.
