Belarus, Portugal to step up trade and economic cooperation

MOSCOW, 25 May (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Portugal to the Russian Federation with concurrent accreditation to Belarus Mario Godinho de Matos in Moscow on 25 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic representation.

“The parties discussed the prospects to intensify the Belarus-Portugal ministerial dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, the development of the legal framework of the bilateral relations, interaction within international organizations,” the press service noted.

The protocol on establishing diplomatic relations between Belarus and Portugal was signed on 26 January 1992. The trade between the two states exceeded $25 million in 2015.
