Belarus, Poland to develop inter-parliamentary dialogue

MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) – The Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus and the Senate of Poland will develop an inter-parliamentary dialogue for the sake of strengthening friendly relations between the two states and nations, says the joint statement on cooperation between the Upper Houses of the Parliament of the two countries, signed in Minsk on 5 December.

The document was signed by Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich and Marshal of the Senate Stanislaw Karczewski.

According to the statement, the Council of the Republic and the Senate agreed to establish permanent ties between the commissions, exchange visits to study the experience of the parliamentary and international activity of the two parties. Parliamentary groups of friendship will be set up to develop direct working contacts between the parliaments and MPs, and assist the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.

The parties also agreed to promote parliamentary methods of expanding cooperation between Belarus and Poland in economy, trade, investments, science and technology, agriculture, education, culture and other sectors of mutual interest. The Council of the Republic and the Senate will also assist in adopting measures to boost interregional exchanges and create favorable conditions for regions to make part of highly efficient and mutually beneficial cooperation.
