Belarus named important contributor to regional security

MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – Belarus' Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko attended the meeting "Exchange of Knowledge on Preventive Diplomacy and Mediation with the Belarusian Diplomatic Service" organized by the European Institute of Peace and Belarusian State University (BSU) with the support of Belarus' Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BelTA learned from the ministry's press service.

Oleg Kravchenko laid out Belarus' approaches to conflict prevention and resolution and emphasized the country's role in strengthening regional security.

The event was attended by Martin Sajdik, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and the Trilateral Contact Group, Marc Otte, EU special representative for the Middle East peace process, Robert Serry, former UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, former UN Special Envoy for Eastern Europe, and Astrid Thors, OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities. Taking part in the event were representatives of the European Institute of Peace, Belarus' Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Belarus' state bodies and the BSU International Relations Faculty.
