Belarus, Germany discuss cooperation in parliamentary, economic dimensions

MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – Belarus and Germany have discussed the advancement of cooperation in the parliamentary dimension and economic affairs. These matters were discussed as Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko met with a delegation of the Parliamentary Forum for Central and Eastern Europe of the federal state of Saxony (Germany), the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

The delegation led by State Minister of Justice of Saxony, Chair of the Parliamentary Forum Sebastian Gemkow included more than 10 MPs of the Saxony parliament, representatives of the private sector and education institutions. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Belarus Peter Dettmar also took part in the meeting.

The sides discussed prospects of further advancing Belarusian-German cooperation, including the parliamentary dimension and economic affairs, the expansion of Belarus-Saxony interaction. The main priorities of Belarus' foreign policy and topical items on the regional agenda were also aired.

While in Belarus the Saxony delegation is expected to hold a number of meetings and visit Grodno and Nesvizh.
