Belarus, Czechia outline new promising cooperation areas

MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) – Belarus and the Czech Republic outlined new promising areas of cooperation at the meeting of the mixed commission on economic, industrial and sci-tech cooperation and the business forum that took place in Minsk, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting was chaired by Belarus' Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevgeny Shestakov and Czech Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Jiri Koliba.

The parties considered issues related to the Belarusian-Czech cooperation and outlined new promising areas of collaboration, including in energy, industry, transport, agriculture, forestry, science and technology, and standardization. The participants to the meeting also discussed ways to intensify cooperation in the financial and legal sectors. The meeting resulted in signing the final protocol and memorandum of cooperation in standardization, metrology and conformity assessment between the State Standardization Committee of Belarus and the Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing.

Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Jan Mladek to talk over promising areas of the Belarusian-Czech cooperation with an emphasis on the economic sector.
