Belarusian BelAZ eager to sell about 300 dump trucks to India

MINSK, 25 September (BelTA) – BelAZ is taking part in tenders to sell 300 dump trucks to India, BelTA learned from BelAZ Director General Piotr Parkhomchik on 25 September.

“We are now taking part in three tenders to deliver dump trucks with various carrying capacities. The total number of vehicles is close to 300. We expect that the first tender for trucks with the carrying capacity of 180 tonnes will be announced by the end of the year. All the technical matters have been discussed. Documents have been accepted,” said Piotr Parkhomchik.

Over the course of 70 years the Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ has sold vehicles to 80 countries. BelAZ vehicles are sold to over 30 countries every year. “There are markets we traditionally hold on to. Those are Russia, Bulgaria, Poland, and Czechia,” said the BelAZ CEO. “A great success was achieved in Indonesia where we sold the first few 40-tonne trucks three years ago. As many as 40 136-tonne BelAZ trucks work there now. We intend to ship about 40 trucks to Indonesia by the end of the year. Contracts have been signed.”

The public joint-stock company (OAO) BelAZ designs and manufactures mining vehicles and special-purpose vehicles using innovative technologies. Over the course of 70 years the company has made over 500 various modifications of haul trucks and utility vehicles, has assembled some 146,000 vehicles.
