MINSK, 14 June (BelTA) – On 13 June Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov chaired a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers to discuss the conceptual framework of the Belarusian fiscal policy forecast for 2018 and through 2020 and also the main areas of the fiscal policy for 2018 and the mid-term financial program for 2018-2020, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian government.
According to the PM, two economic development scenarios, conservative and target-oriented, have been worked out for 2018. “The same as last year, the conservative scenario is suggested for forming the state budget. The target-oriented scenario of economic development meets the goals laid down in the 2020 Program. It envisages transformations approved at the fifth Belarusian People's Congress. The main requirements will include a balanced budget, the honoring of the public debt commitments, and social security spending,” Andrei Kobyakov stressed.
The participants of the meeting heard out the reports of the Economy Ministry and the Finance Ministry.
The Belarusian head of government emphasized that the work on the whole package of forecast documents should be completed in August.
The Presidium of the Council of Ministers also considered the implementation of the events, part of the Belarusian electricity development action plan through 2025, in 2016 taking into account the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant.
