Belarus completes planting sugar beet

MINSK, 10 May (BelTA) – Belarus has completed planting sugar beet, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

Spring crops were sown on 1,641,300 hectares, which is 69.4% of the plan. Early spring grain and leguminous crops (excluding maize, buckwheat and millet) were planted on an area of 587,700 hectares, which is 95.5% of the target.

Spring rapeseed was planted on an area of 40,700 hectares, which accounts for 66% of the target. Sugar beet was planted on 103,200 hectares (100%).

Maize was planted on 683,600 hectares (55.8%), including grain maize (95.1%), potatoes on 10,037 hectares (62.1%), vegetables on 3,018 hectares (58.7%).
