Visa-free travel program

Foreign citizens are allowed to stay in Belarus for up to 30 days without visas, provided they cross the border at the Minsk National Airport. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed the relevant decree on 24 July 2018. The first presidential decree to enable visa-free travel to Belarus came into effect on 12 February 2017. The document allowed foreign tourists to enter Belarus for up to 120 hours without visas, provided they crossed the border at the Minsk National Airport.

Minsk airport no longer accepts foreign cash

Since the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus has not extended the Minsk airport's permit to accept foreign currency in cash, the Minsk airport services will no longer be available in exchange for foreign cash as from 00:00 on 10 June.

Two construction trailers will be deployed soon for processing border documents and customs ones. More construction trailers will be moved to the site to provide accommodation for border service and customs service personnel. Open-sided sheds will be erected as well.
Augustow Canal reports 17,000 visa-free tourists from 60 countries

Around 17,000 tourists from 60 countries have taken advantage of the opportunity to visit the recreation park Augustow Canal visa-free since 26 October 2016. The number is projected to reach 50,000 by the year-end 2017.

According to the source, the towns of Mir and Nesvizh top the list. “It is only natural. Mir and Nesvizh are stars of Belarusian tourism. Even despite complaints about excessive restoration they represent rich museums and, no doubt, the most vivid and important places of interest in Belarus,” she stressed.

It will tell visitors about the country's tourism opportunities and will help develop the Belarusian hospitality industry using modern information technologies. The website is available in Belarusian, Russian, and English.
Decision on extending visa-free travel area onto Grodno railway terminal soon

The railway border checkpoint was not covered by the presidential decree, which introduced the visa-free travel regulations, because communication with Poland by rail was not available when the decree was put together. However, communication by rail was resumed later on. Now many tourists arrive on board the Grodno-Krakow train.
Five hotels to open in Grodno's historic center

Two of the five hotels are supposed to open by the end of the year. In particular, the hotel in Kalyuchinskaya Street will be located in an old building near Sovetskaya Square.

During the meeting the sides decided to recommend working out a common stance on allowing bicycle traffic via the automobile border checkpoints Peschatka and Domachevo. The measure could contribute to the development of tourism potential of the bordering areas of Belarus and Poland.
