Visa-free travel program

As of 12 February 2017 foreign citizens are allowed to stay in Belarus for up to five days without visas, provided they cross the border at the Minsk National Airport. The Belarus president signed decree No. 462 on 26 December 2017 to extend the visa-free travel time for foreign citizens up to ten days in several areas in Brest Oblast and Grodno Oblast as from 1 January.

The official said: “Foreign citizens should not have problems with crossing the Belarusian-Russian border while naturally security interests of Belarus and Russia must be observed. As far as I know, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow.”

JCB cards are issued in 23 countries and are used by over 105 million people. In Belarus JCB card holders will be able to get cash in 500 ATMs and make purchases in Belinvestbank's acquiring network, which comprises over 7,300 retailers and service providers.

Belarus, Russia to discuss travel regulations for foreigners during 2018 FIFA World Cup

A Belarusian-Russian expert group will be created to discuss how foreign citizens will be able to reach the football venues and travel in transit via Belarus. Future plans also include arrangements for the 2019 European Games and the 2021 IIHF World Championship in Belarus.

The countries that sent the most visa-free tourists to Belarus in 2017 were Germany (12,700), Poland (nearly 7,600), and Italy (over 6,700).

Visa-free tourists bring money to Minsk

There are plans to discuss further steps to simplify visa regulations at a government conference to be hosted by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in January. “We are going to make the relevant proposals then. I think concrete steps will be taken as a result of the conference,” concluded the diplomat.
Brest welcomes first visa-free tourists

A family from Polish Biala Podlaska was the first group of tourists to arrive in Brest visa free taking advantage of Decree No. 462 on the launch of visa-free entry and departure for foreign citizens. At the Brest Central railway station the guests were welcomed by representatives of the local authorities, the tour operator, and mass media.
