WTA rankings: Sabalenka 3rd, Azarenka, Sasnovich slide

MINSK, 15 July (BelTA) - Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus remained third while Victoria Azarenka and Aliaksandra Sasnovich moved down the chart in the recently published WTA rankings, BelTA has learned.

Aryna Sabalenka had to pull out of the Wimbledon Open due to a shoulder injury and currently has 7,061 points. Victoria Azarenka, who also had to withdraw from the event due to an injury, slipped four places to No.20. Aliaksandra Sasnovich dropped ten spots to No.134. Today at the Hungarian Open Aliaksandra Sasnovich will face world number 49 Viktoriya Tomova of Bulgaria. Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic jumped 22 spots to return to the top 10 at No 10 for her win at the Wimbledon Open.

WTA Top Ten:

1. Iga Swiatek (Poland) - 11,285 points;
2. Coco Gauff (USA) – 8,173;
3. Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) – 7,061;
4. Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan) – 6,376;
5. Jasmine Paolini (Italy) – 5,518;
6. Jessica Pegula (USA) – 5,025;  
7. Qinwen Zheng (China) – 4,055;
8. Maria Sakkari (Greece) – 3,925;

Jannik Sinner of Italy still tops the ATP rankings. Second goes Novak Djokovic of Serbia, the Wimbledon Open finalist. Carlos Alcaraz of Spain, the winner of the event, is third. Belarus’ Egor Gerasimov goes 265th. Today the Belarusian will open the Challenger Pozoblanco against world number 751 Nicolas Alvarez Varona of Spain.
