With a thirst for adrenaline. Belarusian racers compete in MX SPEEDWAY

MINSK DISTRICT, 2 February (BelTA) - Young athletes from Belarus competed in Ice Motorcycle Racing MX SPEEDWAY at the Zarya Stadium in the village of Prilesye on 31 January, BelTA learned.

According to the organizers, this event is a true celebration of speed, adrenaline, and skill. Ice speedway is one of the most spectacular and extreme disciplines of motorcycle sports. A 400-meter-long ice oval was specially prepared for the racers.
“We have wanted to organize these competitions again for a very long time, but lacked the opportunity. Through the joint efforts of supporters, we managed to prepare the track and gather participants from Belarus and Russia. Racers of all levels joined: from the youngest to the most experienced. The youngest of them is 6 years old, and among them are also masters of sport who compete on large motorcycles.

“Today, about 70 athletes are participating in the race. The only thing that could stop us is the weather. However, if the winter this year and next years is as cold, we will continue to organize this competition,” said Sergey Lapitsky, the event organizer, director of the specialized children's and youth sports school of DOSAAF.
One of the participants, Master of Sports Vladislav Gordeychuk came to the competition from St. Petersburg. The young man shared how he got into the sport. “I met my future coach at a karting training session and decided to sign up for classes. I've been racing motorcycles since 2020. Our entire team is preparing to participate in big races next year. When we found out we could take part in a speedway event in Belarus, we immediately joined in. My mood is excellent; I just caught up on sleep after training, so I'm alert, full of energy, and ready to win," the racer shared.

Candidate for Master of Sports from Moscow Lev Alekseyev noted that he wants to show his best. “Competing in another country promises to be very interesting. I've been involved since I was four, so 11 years in total. In speedway whoever wins the start is most likely to finish first. From the very beginning, you have to use all your strength to win,” he revealed the secret.

Fourteen-year-old Roman Kuzmich from Minsk has been doing racing sports for three years. “I really enjoy it because of the thirst for speed and adrenaline. It's my first time participating in such a large-scale competition, I'm fully ready to hit the track, and my mood is excellent! We prepared for this for several days, putting on special studs to accelerate on the turns. Today I’m competing with participants from Russia and I plan to win,” he said.
