SKA Minsk 11th in All-Time Ranking List of European Handball

MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) – SKA Minsk placed 11th in the All-Time Raking List of European Handball compiled by handball-planet.com based on the performance of the European teams since 1956, BelTA has learned.

Over the years SKA Minsk have won the European Champions Cup three times (1987, 1989, 1990), the Cup Winners' Cup twice (1983, 1988), the Super Cup (1989) and the EHF Challenge Cup (2013) each once. All the success was achieved under the tutelage of famous Belarusian coach Spartak Mironovich. Thanks to these achievements, SKA Minsk go with 45 points in the ranking.

Barca Lassa with 160 points topped the list. Three German teams – VFL Gummersbach (103 points), THW Kiel (87.5), and SC Magdeburg (61.25) – placed second, third and fourth respectively. The Top Ten also included BM Ciudad Real (55.62), Dukla Praha (54.37), Frisch Aufgoppingen (50), SG Flensburg Handewitt (50), Telekom Veszprem (48.75), and RK PPD Zagreb (46.25).

Ranking points include participation in the semifinals, finals and victories in the EHF Champions Cup, the EHF Cup Winners' Cup, the EHF Cup and the EHF Challenge Cup.
