MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – Belarus’ world number two Aryna Sabalenka lost to World No.49 Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 4-6, in the China Open quarterfinal, BelTA has learned.
The match lasted for two hours and 45 minutes.
Karolina Muchova will next face either World No.7 Zheng Qinwen of China or World No.22 Mirra Andreeva of Russia.
The second semifinal will feature world number 6 Coco Gauff of the United States and Spain’s world number 19 Paula Badosa.
The event in the Chinese capital will be over on 6 October.
