Paralympics 2024: Boki into Men’s 100m Backstroke final

MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) – Belarusian swimmer Ihar Boki has reached the Men’s 100m Backstroke – S13 final at the ongoing Paris Paralympics 2024, BelTA has learned.

Two Belarusian swimmers Ihar Boki and Yauheni Kavalionak competed in Preliminary Heat 2. Ihar Boki clocked the best time of 58.97 seconds in the heat and placed second in the overall table, following behind Russia’s Vladimir Sotnikov (58.32 seconds). Yauheni Kavalionak clocked 1:05.97 to finish last among 14 competitors. Eight best athletes advanced to the final.

The Men’s 100m Backstroke final is scheduled later on 30 August. Ihar Boki is a Paralympic world record holder in the discipline. On 29 August the Belarusian won gold in the Men’s 100m Butterfly - S13. Ihar Boki has won 19 (17-1-1) medals at the Paralympics.
