MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) - Belarusian athletes deliver high results at international competitions despite the restrictions, Vice President of the Belarusian National Olympic Committee Dzmitry Dauhalionak said as he addressed the international science congress "Values, Traditions and Innovations in Modern Sport", BelTA has learned.
According to Dzmitry Dauhalionak, “by performing well in international arena Belarusian athletes prove that you can train and deliver high results even in these conditions of sanctions.”
A good example is the past Olympic Games in Paris where Team Belarus did very well. Such good results are achieved thanks to coaches and medical staff of massage therapists, doctors. The state and its support measures account for the lion's share of credit for success. Dzmitry Dauhalionak is sure that scientific and methodological work is also extremely important.
He noted that the international congress in Minsk brought together sports science specialists from the CIS and other countries. The congress will last for three days. The participants will share their experience, identify general trends, and discuss the role of a sports coach in modern conditions.
The vice president expressed the hope that the discussions may give rise to new scientific work that will help athletes to achieve high results.
