MINSK, 9 January (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk failed to earn any points during their first away series of 2026 in the regular championship of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), BelTA has learned.

On 8 January, Dmitri Kvartalnov’s squad faced HC Severstal Cherepovets. The teams were tied in the standings with 57 points apiece going into the game. The opening period ended with a narrow lead for the hosts. Belarusian goaltender Konstantin Shostak was guarding the home team’s net, and it was his compatriot, forward Aleksandr Skorenov (also playing for HC Severstal Cherepovets), who opened the scoring. In the following period, Skorenov added an assist to his tally.

In the second period, HC Dinamo Minsk managed to tie the game. Vadim Moroz scored twice within five minutes to complete a brace, with one of the scoring plays initiated by goaltender Vasily Demchenko. Shortly before the intermission, the Minsk Bisons took a 3-2 lead as Sergei Kuznetsov converted a power play for the third game in a row. Sam Anas, who provided the assist on that goal, extended his point streak to eight games, while Ty Smith picked up two helpers in the period.

In the third period, however, the visitors failed to protect their advantage. HC Severstal Cherepovets struck twice to claim a 4-3 comeback victory over HC Dinamo Minsk. This loss means the Minsk Bisons conclude their road trip without a single point, following losses to HC Traktor Chelyabinsk (4-5) and HC CSKA Moscow (2-4). The Minsk club, holding third place in the Western Conference standings, will next play at home on 12 January against HC Admiral Vladivostok.
