MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) – There is a high demand for Belarusian pharmaceuticals in Russia, Yelena Kalinichenko, head of the KhimPharmSintez scientific and production center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, told a press conference, BelTA reports.
“We supply domestically produced medicines to Belarusian hospitals and also export 50% of our output, including to Russia. Our medicines have a high quality and are in demand. When you produce a quality product, it always finds a buyer. In Russia, there is a queue of distributors eager to sell our products. For certain pharmaceuticals, we have already secured 20% or more of the Russian market. We are, of course, striving to increase this share. Currently, we are advancing a new project to develop and expand our production capacities,” Yelena Kalinichenko informed.
She added that the scientific and production center is deeply integrated into various facets of medical advancement and specializes in the production, registration, and commercialization of innovative drugs, including anti‑tumor, antiviral, and anti‑tuberculosis medications. “Approximately 65% of our center’s employees are women, with an average age of 35-40. This is the best period for women to realize their potential, both in science and in family life. Belarusian women make a substantial contribution to the development of science and our nation,” the scientist emphasized.
