MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) - The Executive Committee of the European Gymnastics Federation (European Gymnastics) has lifted all restrictions on Belarusian and Russian athletes, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Gymnastics Association.
European Gymnastics has restored the rights of Belarusians and Russians, following the World Gymnastics decision to lift all restrictions applicable to the participation of Belarusian and Russian athletes and in accordance with IOC recommendations. The decision takes effect on 24 May 2026. The upcoming European Championships in Varna, on 27 to 31 May, will be the first competition where Belarusian gymnasts will compete with national symbols.
In Bulgaria, Belarus will be represented in the individual senior and junior competitions by Alina Harnasko, Darya Viarenich, Nicole Liauta, Kira Babkevich, Kseniya Bandarenka, And Margarita Zhurovich. In the group exercises, Team Belarus will feature Palina Aliaksandrava, Sofya Barysevich, Valeryia Malkovich, Hanna Shakun, Kiriana Shevtsova and Taisa Yerchak.
