Cooperation supplies within EAEU increase 2.5 times over 11 years

MINSK, 28 May (BelTA) - The volume of cooperation supplies among EAEU countries has increased 2.5 times over the past 11 years, Goar Barseghyan, Member of the Board (Minister) for Industry and Agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Commission, said during the session Industrial Cooperation in the EAEU: Business Ideas and Support Mechanisms at the Eurasian Economic Forum in Astana, BelTA has learned.

She emphasized that today, amid the global transformation of the world economy, industrial development is gaining particular importance as a driver of industrialization, modernization of production infrastructure, and sustainable economic growth. “Despite various challenging periods, the EAEU has proven its effectiveness as an economic integration bloc. This is confirmed by concrete figures. By 2026, the union’s total economic potential has grown to $3 trillion. Industrial output has reached $1.7 trillion. The volume of cooperation supplies has increased 2.5 times over 11 years, reaching $35 billion,” Goar Barseghyan said.

In her view, the launch of a pilot mechanism for financial support of industrial cooperation, created on the initiative of businesses, has marked a transition to a new stage of development - project-based integration. “It is gratifying that two years after the launch, we can already take stock of our work. Over these two years, we have gone through the formative stage of the mechanism, and as a result we have built a portfolio of more than 20 project initiatives involving all countries of the union in areas such as specialized and heavy machinery, pharmaceuticals, microelectronics, machine tool manufacturing, petrochemicals, and wood processing,” the EEC minister said.
