Belarus, Georgia discuss railway supplies, freight cooperation

MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) - Georgia plans to purchase railway-related products from Belarus, BelTA has learned from the press service of the Belarusian Railways.

A meeting between Head of Belarusian Railways Valery Verenich and Director General of JSC Georgian Railway Lasha Abashidze took place at the Belarusian Railways office. The sides discussed current issues, including cargo transportation and logistics on the Belarus-Georgia-Belarus route, as well as the development of competitive tariff conditions.

The Georgian side also reaffirmed its readiness to purchase railway products from Belarus, including a broad range of freight railcars manufactured by Mogilev Carriage Works and Osipovichi Transport Engineering Plant.

In furtherance of bilateral cooperation, the Georgian partners will visit the Belarusian Railways’ Transport Control Center, check the developments of the Belarusian Railways Design and Engineering Center, and learn more about the technologies, production facilities and output of Minsk Carriage Plant, Borisov Sleeper-Impregnating Plant, Mogilev Carriage Works and Osipovichi Transport Engineering Plant.
