
MINSK, 26 July (BelTA) - Belarusian athlete Anastasiya Vasilenko won a medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, BelTA learned.
The Belarusian swimmer clinched a top-three finish in Girls' 50m Freestyle. During the heats, Anastasiya Vasilenko won her preliminary race and advanced to the next round with the third-fastest time among 49 competitors. In the semifinals, the Belarusian swimmer took second place. She repeated this achievement in the final. Anastasiya Vasilenko’s time was 26.16, with only Spain's Irene Galve finishing faster (25.75). The bronze medal was shared between the athletes from Poland and Hungary, who clocked identical times of 26.20.
On 25 July, Belarusian Maksim Malyshka earned gold in Boys’ 100m Breaststroke. At the moment, Team Belarus has 13 medal: 5 gold, as well as 4 silver and bronze.
