MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – The Belarus national U19 football team won the final match of the first qualifying round of the 2026 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualification competition, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian U19 squad ended their qualifying campaign on a high note, overpowering Liechtenstein 5-0 in Manavgat, Türkiye on 18 November. In the first half, Artsiom Akatau netted a double, with Artem Grabtsevich and Yegor Molchan also getting on the scoresheet. Bahdan Guseu sealed the comprehensive victory after halftime. This dominant performance by the players under Sergey Sosnovsky’s guidance contrasted sharply with their opening matches, where Belarus fell 2-0 to both Greece and Türkiye. Completing the group drama, Türkiye grabbed a narrow 2-1 win over Greece in the other match on 18 November. The final group standings are as follows: Türkiye – 9 points, Greece – 6, Belarus – 3, Liechtenstein – 0.
The top two teams from each of the 13 groups will advance to the elite qualifying round, along with the best third-placed team. The elite round matches will take place in the spring of 2026. The final tournament of the 2026 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, featuring eight teams, will be held on 28 June–11 July in Wales. The Welsh team received an automatic qualification.
