MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) – Belarusian tennis player Iryna Shymanovich and Russia’s Maria Kozyreva have reached the semifinals of the doubles event at the WTA 125 tournament in Austin, USA, which boasts a prize fund of $115,000, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian-Russian tandem secured a quarterfinal victory over the U.S. duo Catherine Harrison and Alana Smith with a score of 6-2, 6-4. Meanwhile, in singles, Iryna Shymanovich (World No.158) fell to Canada’s Kayla Cross (World No.250) in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 1-6.
The tournament in Austin will conclude on 9 November.
