Belarus rout Moldova 8-0 at Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal

MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) - Belarus secured its second win at the Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal Alghero 2024, routing Moldova 8-0 in Group B, BelTA has learned.

In today's match Nicolas Alvarado's team were considered favorites, and they seized the initiative from the very start, scoring two goals one by one. Mikita Chaikouski opened the scoring, with Vadzim Bokach following the suit. Shortly before the first break, Ihar Bryshtsel, the leader of the Belarusian team, scored twice. Midway through the second period Mikita Chaikouski scored his second of the match, and then Aleh Hapon added one more. In the third period, Belarusians kept their dominance in the third period, with Vadzim Bokach and goalkeeper Uladzimir Ustsinovich secured a perfect victory.

On 10 September Belarus beat Switzerland 9-6. Scoring on the winning side were Aleh Hapon, Yury Piatrouski and Anatoliy Ryabko (each twice), Yahor Hardzetski, Yauheni Novikau and Artsemi Drozd.

Belarus is set to complete the first stage against France on 12 September. France lost to Moldova 3-4 and to Switzerland 4-6. The Group B standings are as follows: Belarus – 6 points, Switzerland – 2, Moldova – 2, and France – 0. Belarus has already secured first place in the group and qualified for the playoffs.

The group stage will determine eight participants of the quarterfinals. The tournament will be over on 15 September.
