Belarus’ Letsko crowned European U23 boxing champion

MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes have won 11 medals at the EUBC U23 European Boxing Championship in Yerevan, Armenia, BelTA has learned.

The national team’s tally includes one gold, two silver, and eight bronze medals. Darya Letsko became the European champion in the 70 kg category. The Belarusian athlete defeated Russia’s Lada Yeskina in the semifinal and overcame Serbia’s Anastasija Boskovic in the decisive bout. Silver medals in their respective weight categories were won by Maryna Muliarchyk (57 kg) and Maria Pilipenka (75 kg), who lost to Russian opponents in the finals.

Earlier, the bronze medalists included Tatsiana Krasnova (48 kg), Iryna Vinahradava (50 kg), Tatsiana Trushkina (54 kg), and Daryia Slepchanka (66 kg), Aliaksei Dakuchayeu (54 kg), Dmitriy Dvarnichenka (60 kg), Aliaksei Koktikau (80 kg), and Andrei Masalau (86 kg). Meanwhile at the European Youth Boxing Championships also taking place in Yerevan, Belarusian athletes secured 14 medals (1 gold, 4 silver, and 9 bronze).
