MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) - The Belarusian national beach soccer team has learned their opponents for the Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal following the tournament draw in Barcelona, BelTA has learned.
Belarus was placed in Group A alongside defending champions Portugal, as well as Italy and France. Group B will feature teams from Ukraine, Switzerland, Spain and Denmark.
On 4-7 September, the Belarusian squad led by coach Nicolas Alvarado will hold training sessions in St. Petersburg before traveling to Viareggio, Italy for the decisive stage of Europe's premier beach soccer event running 9-14 September. Belarus has claimed bronze medals in the past two Euro League seasons, adding to their silver medal performance in 2021. In last season's final, Portugal dominated Italy 5-1 to claim their record ninth Euro League title, while Belarus secured third place with a convincing 6-1 victory over Spain.
