MINSK, 12 December (BelTA) – Belarusian tennis player Daria Khomutsianskaya has advanced to the singles semifinals of the ITF W35 Sharm ElSheikh 2025 Tennis Tournament in Egypt, which boasts a prize fund of $30,000, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian tennis player battled past Latvia’s Kamilla Bartone in the quarterfinals on 12 December, clinching a 6-0, 6-7(6-8), 6-3 victory. In her opening match, Daria Khomutsianskaya comfortably saw off Egypt’s Nada Fouad 6-2, 6-2, and in the second round, she secured a victory over Russian Kristiana Sidorova in a three-set battle, with a score of 4-6, 7-5, 7-5. Awaiting her in the semifinal on 13 December is the winner of the clash between Tara Wuerth of Croatia and Katy Dunne of the UK.
Also on 12 December, Daria Khomutsianskaya and another Belarusian Polina Kuharenko are set for a doubles semifinal clash against the Latvian-French tandem of Kamilla Bartone and Yara Bartashevich. In their opening match, Khomutsianskaya and Kuharenko overcame the Bulgarian-Polish duo Rositsa Dencheva and Anna Hertel 7-5, 1-6, 10-4.
The competitions in Sharm el-Sheikh will conclude on 14 December.
