Belarus’ Damaratski wins Mass Start in Division B at ISU Speed Skating World Cup 3

MINSK, 8 December (BelTA) – Belarusian speed skater Yahor Damaratski won the mass start event in the B Division at the third stage of the ISU Speed Skating World Cup in Heerenveen, the Netherlands, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian athlete covered the 6400m distance in 7 minutes 59.91 seconds. Based on the results, Damaratski earned 63 points, finishing ahead of representatives from France and Norway. Twenty-two skaters took part in the race. The Group B victory earned Yahor 22 points towards the World Cup title in this event. Following three stages, the Belarusian skater sits 30th in the mass start rankings with 31 points, with the top 24 earning automatic Olympic qualification.

Furthermore, Damaratski currently holds 42nd place in the long distance (5000 m and 10,000 m). To secure a quota for Milan in these events, he needs to break into the top 15 of the overall rankings. Norway’s Hamar will host the decisive fourth World Cup stage on 12-14 December, which will finalize the roster for the 2026 Olympic Games.
