MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian beach soccer national team produced a successful start in the European qualifiers for the FIFA Beach Soccer World defeating Belgium 11-1 in the Group D opening match in Cadiz, Spain, BelTA has learned.
Aleh Hapon (hat-trick), Ihar Bryshtsel, Yahor Hardzetski (both twice), Vadzim Bokach, Artsemi Drozd, Mikita Chaikouski and Yury Piatrouski scored for the winning side. Belarus will next face Moldova on 7 October.
The other groups are as follows:
Group A – Georgia, England, Spain, Azerbaijan;
Group B – Czech republic, Italy, Denmark;
Group C – Estonia, Germany, Portugal, Kazakhstan;
Group E – Switzerland, France, Lithuania, Malta;
Group F – Ukraine, Poland, Norway.
The Round of 16 draw is set to take place after the conclusion of the first group stage on 8 October, as the winners of the first four Round of 16 pairings will make up Group A, as Group B will be composed of the winners of the second four pairings. The top two nations from each group will secure their places in Seychelles.
