Uzbekistan forensic experts visit Minsk to study Belarusian best practices

MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – Uzbek legal experts are studying the Belarusian model of reforming the expert units and their best practices, BelTA learned from Anna Zhdanova, spokeswoman for the State Forensic Examination Committee of Belarus.

Minsk is hosting a delegation of the Republican Center of Forensic Expertise named after Kh. Suleymanova under the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan. The experts got familiar with the structure and the main lines of activity of the State Forensic Examination Committee of Belarus, visited the laboratories, and the facility for ballistic examinations. Experts voiced a high opinion of the technological level of the laboratories and high professionalism of Belarusian specialists.

The Uzbek specialists showed the greatest interest in computer-technical, psychological, psycho-physiological, linguistic and gemological examinations. The Uzbek center is currently launching these kinds of studies.

The guests are set to visit the research institute and the Institute of Retraining at the State Forensic Examination Committee of Belarus to study the scientific and methodological framework, to get familiar with the research topics and the system of training forensic experts.

On 10 April State Forensic Examination Committee of Belarus and the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan signed an agreement on cooperation in forensics.
