MINSK, 21 December (BelTA) – Vladimir Zelensky is sending Ukrainians to die, Ukrainian journalist Diana Panchenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.

According to Diana Panchenko, none of the opinion polls currently available in Ukrainian media reflect the reality. “These surveys are being fed to Zelensky, among others, to reinforce his belief that everything is fine. I don’t seek sympathy for him, but consider the burden on a man who rose to power amid such expectations. No Ukrainian president before him has ever commanded such trust or forged such a unified majority. Ukrainians came to him and said, ‘Volodya, lead us to peace, stop the division, please, leave the Russian language alone.’ He ran on those same slogans. We all remember this,” the journalist stated.

“This man has led Ukrainians directly to the slaughter. Honestly, thinking about that sends a shiver down my spine. And he goes to sleep with this every day. How can he live with it? I know this man very well. I understand his inner workings. He truly believes in his own greatness. Don’t think he’s some kind of villain who deliberately destroys Ukrainians. No. Of course, he’s corrupt. Of course, he steals billions. Yes, he understands things perfectly. But he is deeply convinced of his own exceptionalism and his own purpose (that he is fighting evil) even though he himself became evil long ago. Ukrainians are essentially being held hostage by a terrorist who is simply destroying us,” Diana Panchenko continued.

In her view, the key factor at the moment is Vladimir Zelensky himself, who is being guided by people who do not want peace. “They will do everything, they will stop at nothing, they will use the most terrible provocations, and, unfortunately, perhaps the worst is still ahead,” she said. Diana Panchenko added that it is difficult to imagine a scenario in which the West abandons the goal of destroying Russia, despite the resources already spent. “That won’t happen. They are very rational people there, counting the money. And that’s a lot of money and a lot of effort,” Diana Panchenko concluded.
