'They are desperate to start this operation': Militants are planning to invade Belarus

MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – The ultimate goal of fugitive militants who are getting training abroad is to invade Belarus, Maksim Ralko, former member of the illegal armed formation Kalinovski regiment who took part in the hostilities, told the ONT TV channel, BelTA reports.

The TV channel noted that combat formations have been created in Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania with the support of local authorities. They are being taught, trained, and tested for the main assignment. Their plans are very similar to those of fascists.

Immediately after the events of 2020, the self-exiled opposition and their Western handlers began to prepare an armed invasion of Belarus. The first stage implies a massive information attack from various resources, which has been going on for more than one year. The premise is simple: things are bad in Belarus and good in the West, and the self-exiled opposition allegedly knows how to make life better.

Simultaneously they are scouting for supporters of such ideas in different regions of Belarus. They are brought together into cells, which are sleeper cells for the time being. During this time weapons and ammunition are transferred to Belarus from Ukraine.

After all these stages are passed, the active phase begins. At one moment, various armed formations cross the border. They have identified four territories to seize: the southwest at the junction of the borders of Belarus, Poland and Ukraine, then Kobrin District, Pinsk District and Luninets District. They have planned to attack from three directions: Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine.

At the same time sleeper cells, groups and detachments inside the country start to act. They act according to the “strike and pull back” tactics, make ambushes, capture small settlements. Attack drones hit strategic sites in Belarus. According to the enemy's plan, the country is in chaos, the authorities are demoralized and cannot understand where to expect new strikes from.

Then the groups take larger settlements and regional centers under control - and Minsk is captured. After Belarus is ‘liberated’, “democratic forces” arrive in the country from abroad.

“Everyone in the regiment [recognized in Belarus as a terrorist organization] thought that they would fight against Russia. Then they came to realize that in fact the ultimate goal was Belarus,” Maksim Ralko said. He was born in Minsk in 2001. In the spring of 2022, he joined Kalinovsky Battalion, the illegal armed formation. He participated in military operations. Up until recently, he lived in Poland.

“They are dead set to start this operation as soon as an opportunity comes their way. But there will be victims. Of course, there will be victims. They understand this,” Maksim Ralko emphasized.

The TV channel noted that the narrative that Belarusian volunteers are allegedly fighting in Ukraine for some freedom is, in fact, just a cover. All these so-called battalions, companies, corps are being battle tested and trained for something completely different.

"We thought we were at war. We were tested, deployed to Russia for sabotage. And then, when order comes, we must move to the borders of Belarus," Maksim Ralko explained. “And into Belarus. Invade. For this, they are now collecting weapons, stocking up the arsenal. This is all being prepared for an attack on Belarus. You know what ideas were popular in the regiment? Let then [Ukrainians] fight and die. We have a different task - Belarus. We need to learn, to train and, when order comes, cross the border."

According to Maksim Ralko, if these militants break into Belarus, there will be a war and there will be casualties. “They certainly won't care who is in front of them - military or civilians. Civilians? Whatever! At best, ordinary people will become a human shield,” he said.

According to Maksim Ralko, there was talk among the militants that the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine needed military uniform for some reason. “It is unclear why they needed it. Border guard uniforms, special services uniforms. Pants, jackets, headgear. Everyone who is responsible for security. Not just border guards. And they were talking about a hundred thousand sets. Although they said: give us one or two, and we will sew the rest,” he said.
